This was the Ben Sparaco Band from Coral Springs, north of Miami. Sparaco was playing a guitar that, to my amateur eyes, looked just like Trucks’, and he played the slide in much the same way. During the Sunshine Music Festival after party held at The Funky Biscuit, Gregg Allman’s band played as “Dookey Shoe” along with the Albert Castiglia Band, Devon Allman Band, and special guests including Kofi Burbridge, Kebbi Williams, and Ephraim Owens from Tedeschi Trucks Band, as well as myself. Just before Dookey Shoe took the stage, Gregg showed up and ended up sitting in on a few songs in the intimate venue. See the Jambase Article for more.
